Work is underway at Glasgow Cathedral to survey the Sacristy and identify the masons’ marks left by the skilled artisans who rebuilt this part of the cathedral after a fire destroyed that part of the building in the fifteenth century.
The marks found will help identify how many masons were involved in the re-build and whether any new stones were used in the reconstruction.
We are at the cathedral on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th July from 1000 until 1600 each day.
Do come along and have a look.
The pictures show some of the marks recorded.
