We have been exploring the walls of the Chapter Houses at Glasgow Cathedral.
The team have completed elevation drawings of each wall, to explore the distribution pattern of masons’ marks.
This helps us better understand in more detail where each mason worked and his skill level.
As you can see from the attached drawing of the fireplace in the Chapter House, mason no 063 worked on the fireplace. His mark is also found on several other stones elsewhere in the room.
